JULIUS

                                              Hello beer friends...

So this week I want to talk about one of my favorite Tree House beers and that's JULIUS. This is considered the #3 best IPA in. the. world. according to RATEBEER.COM..and it's freshly brewed right here in Western MA! Beer Heaven is only a short drive away (if you live in Western MA)

To the right is a picture of the old Tree House Julius cans. Although the newer cans absolutely rock (see above), the old can screamed fresh craft beer. They just can it up and slap a sticker on it. Awesome.

Julius is one of Tree House Beer signatures. Like I mentioned this beer is an IPA. It has 1.6oz per gallon of American hops. Although it is an IPA, it has citrus, mango, and passion fruit notes. And surprisingly it is 6.5% alcohol. Tree House refers to it as "freakishly drinkable" and I have to say I can't disagree.

The color is a very welcoming grapefruit juice-like hue.  Citrusy on the nose and hop forward up front with just the right amount of alcohol and a clean finish making this brew nothing short of crushable.

There are several reviews on youtube for this beer and all are great. The above is from Beer Geek Nation.

Today (10/21) Tree House had Julius on tap. Keep track of the daily updates on the Tree House website of what's on tap.

Let me know if you guys have the chance to try it this weekend!

Cheers!

TREE HOUSE BREWERY

Hello my fellow craft brew lovers!

My name is Austin. I am a 23 year old college student. I am also a member of the AIC Hockey team. Between school and hockey two of my favorite things are music and beer. I chose to write this blog specifically on a local craft brew company in MA; Tree House Brewing Co.

Long story short- my older cousins are lovers of craft beer. My cousin recently moved home so I spend a lot of time with him. I quickly noticed my cousin was always drinking a new kind of beer, one typically that I've never heard of. The interesting labels, names, and hype around these unique beers made me realize there was more to beer outside of my standard Coors Light. And then I discovered Tree House Brewing Co. My first experience was actually this past summer. I hopped in the car one hot afternoon this summer with my cousin and girlfriend and headed to Tree House Brewing Co. We were driving through the winding streets of Monson, MA and finally came upon the rustic, barn-looking building. There were crowds gathered in packs around the barn with their arms full of 16oz cans of beers. Some were taking pictures with the Tree House sign in the front and others were admiring the colorful labels on the cans as if they had discovered a magical creature. This was a whole new world of beer I didn't even know existed.

Tree House Brewing Co. is unique because they do not sell their beer outside of the brewery. I quickly learned that people drive hours and hours just to purchase a few beers. Another reason why Tree House is unique is because they limit the amount of beer you can purchase at a time. They also only offer certain beer on certain days. There is always something different to try!

Check out the Tree House website below. You can learn more about the people who work at the brewery, read the daily blog about the beers they have on tap, and buy some Tree House gear! Their Twitter link is also below for live updates

Below is a video about Tree House Brewing Co. It's really interesting to hear about the backstory of how Tree House started and how big they've gotten in such little time:

I look forward to sharing my experiences and writing some beer reviews for you guys. I'd love to hear if anyone else has tried Tree House and your thoughts on their beers!

Cheers!
